Event Description: Join us at Lake Dardanelle State Park August 18th for our annual Cultural Celebration. This is a family friendly day of fun as we explore the history of this area. We will have games, a hike, and many other programs throughout the day. For a detailed schedule you can come by the visitor center or call 479-967-5516. The Early Arkansaw Reenactors will also be at the park for the day with their circa 1800 keel boat. These boats were a primary source of travel in the area for a time. This is your opportunity to take a step into the past and see what life on a river boat might have been like. Come out and join us in exploring the heritage of the area. There will be a genealogy seminar presented by the Cherokee Heritage Center, Registration is required, fee is $50. The USDA Forest Service will also be on hand to display some of the artifacts found in the national forest.
